Jason AdamiJason Adami has taken the outright victory for round 2 of the N.T Titles at Mt Ooraminta on the weekend.

Adami driving the pro class Porter buggy drove a faultless race to claim outright honours at the second round of the N.T Titles, Locky and Paddy Weir driving the Jimco Pro-Lite buggy claimed second outright, pushed to the limits by Bernard Gwynne in his Chevy Extreme 2WD truck taking third outright.

Locky and Paddy WeirThe event got underway with 19 entrants lining up for the prologue on Saturday afternoon, first vehicle to drop out of the event was the extreme 2WD of Anthony Coulthard with a blown engine, next to fall was Rod Berry in his performance 2WD falcon ute when the front shockers decided to punch their way through the bonnet, Axle greening got the first two laps of the event in before the clutch in the Super 1650 decided to give up.

After the first 2 laps of the event the leader board was, Adami, Weir, Heinzel, Cullenane and Gwynne after a short break for the A.G.M the night leg got under way with the field starting at 1.30 minute intervals. Adami showed the field that day or night made no difference to the speed of the Pro class porter buggy increasing his lead over the rest of the field, the night leg would see the demise of a further 3 competitors, Scott Raven was force to park his Super 1650 buggy after the R/H suspension failed breaking engine mounts and drive shaft failure, Andrew Mowles also parked up the Hurricane pro-Lite buggy when the Differential decided to part ways with the gearbox, and Ken Callanan was also forced  to park the mighty Suzuki also with clutch issues.

Bernard GwynneThe drivers regrouped after a nights work/relaxing with the event starting at 7.30 Sunday morning, Adami would again have a dust free run out in front of the field, being chased by Weir (pro-Lite) Heinzel (pro-Lite) Cullenane (Ext 2wd) Gwynne (Ext 2wd) and Jencks (Ext 2wd), another 2 laps of the well-designed Bob Baldock coarse consisting of 45klm’s would see a few positions change through the field, with great battles happening in the mid field with Angus McKay (super 1650) battling hard to stay in front of the larger vehicles, Glenn Wallace (Ext 2wd) Rick Schembri (pro Class) and Ross Bohlin(Perf 2wd).

Ross BohlinThe final part of the event the stadium style 3 x 3‘s would see the final positions change again, first was 1st and 2nd Adami and Weir, with Adami taking the win, next pairing would see the 2 Extreme 2wd’s of Cullenane and Gwynne go head to head with barely seconds between these two vehicles in the first 2 laps this was a great duel before the accelerator cable of Wayne Cullenane’ broke, the next pair of vehicles to do battle was Steve Jenstch(Ext 2wd) and Paul Heinzel (pro-Lite)again another great battle until the right rear stub axle on the Heinzel machine decided to part ways only 1.5 klm’s from the finish line thus ending his chances of a second outright honours for the N.T Title.

From the 19 original entries only 10 vehicles greeted the chequered flag on Sunday morning, final placing’s 1 – 10 were:
