Alice Springs off Road Racing Club held the first hit out of the year at the Finke start finish line on Sunday. The Brekkie Bash as it is known is a great chance to give the buggies a run after the 3 month break, test new machines, and try out the changes made to the machines over the break.
15 machines got the preseason shake down, with some drivers finding gremlins as well, Jason Adami (pro class) found that driver error doesn’t do much to your preseason preparation, Stewart Prichard (super 1650) also succumb to drive line failure and Chris Coulthard (pro class) also had steering issues with his machine.
The rest of the field had a great run and at the end of the day were very happy to get the first test run under their belt.
Brad Gallard also made the trek to the centre in his Extreme 2wd machine getting an early look at the prologue track for this year’s Finke Desert race.
Drivers from the A.S.O.R.C will now pack their machines up and travel south for the first round of the South Australian championship, Brett Taylor (pro class), Axle Greening (super 1650) Paul Gilbert (pro class) will all leave Alice Springs on Friday for the trip to Baroota to compete this weekend.
The rest of the local drivers will now turn their attention to the first round of the N.T Titles to be held on the 26th and 27th of this month.
